High school junior, Sierra Duchai organized the planting of a recycled River Birch tree at Emily's grade school for peace and dedicated to Emily's memory. August 22, 2009 - Memorial Blood Drive - Roosevelt, NJ

As part of the Emily Fund's DoOneThing campaign, family friend, Elizabeth Huang-Majorczyk has organized a Memorial Blood Drive with the Community Blood Council of New Jersey to be held in front of the Roosevelt Post Office on Saturday, August 22, 2009 from 9:30am - 2pm.

New Jersey's blood supplies have dropped below the critical five-day supply level. People can do their part by being a blood donor and help save a life. All types of blood are sought, but there is an especially strong need for type O-negative blood. The bloodmobile is a self contained unit used for this purpose and would just need 10 minutes of each person's time to donate blood. Eligible donors should be at least 17, weigh 110 pounds and be in generally good health.
