Peace Prize

The Sydney Peace Prize is awarded each year by the Sydney Peace Foundation, a not-for-profit organization created in 1998 at Australia's Sydney University. The Foundation's mission is to promote peace with justice -- "Peace with justice is a way of thinking and acting which promotes non-violent solutions to every day problems and provides the foundation of a civil society." The Sydney Peace Prize is awarded "to an organization or an individual whose life and work has demonstrated significant contributions to: the achievement of peace with justice locally, nationally or internationally; the promotion and attainment of human rights; the philosophy, language and practice of non violence . www.sydneypeacefoundation.org.au
